Today, on July 14, 2010, commemorative plaque in honour of Petr Stepanovich Neporozhny, outstanding power engineer and former USSR Minister of Energy and Electrification (1962-1985) has been opened on the facade of former USSR Ministry of Energy building (now - the RF Ministry of Energy and Trade). “IDGC Holding”, JSC delegation headed by Nikolay Shvets General Director of the Company paid floral tribute to the memory of P.S. Neporozhny.
Nikolay Shvets General Director of “IDGC Holding”, JSC said in his speech: “Electric power generation increased by 5 times when P.S. Neporozhny was the Head of State Power industry – about 1,6 bln kWT/h in 1986. Length of 110 kV transmission lines extended by 7 times and 220 kV transmission lines – by 9 times. P.S. Neporozhny paid great attention to management, autoimmunization, power transmission and distribution. Under his direct control some 35 kV power grid districts and 110 kV substations were totally autimatized. It increased security of the system, power safety, labour culture and efficiency.”
Nikolay Shvets emphasized necessity of pursuing power industry management as well as accumulated experience with continuity. He also said that “IDGC Holding”, JSC carries out constant work with veterans and the youth. It is aimed at strengthening of team-spirit, mentorship traditions, competitive atmosphere in professional achievement of young specialists, development of science-technical creativity, enhancement of production discipline and moral potential of IDGC/DGC staff by supporting labour dynasties which gather over 1,5 ths. workers.”
During the meeting on the occasion of opening the commemorative plaque in honour of outstanding power industry leader, Nikolay Shvets suggested creating P.S. Neporozhny house museum in Ukraine - his historical homeland.
